Rover P6 V8 Engine Coffee Table / Wine Rack

This was the first coffee table, build purely as a bit of fun a year or so ago. It turned out to be the inspiration for further Scrapiture developments. I was given this engine complete with all the gaskets, rings and accessories to put it back together. What should it go in, I thought... The living room? - of course!

It took over 30 hours of cleaning and polishing. This was done completely by hand, without even steam cleaning or blasting. An awful 80's coffee table was sacrificed for the glass and suckers on the pistons. 8 bottles of wine can be added/removed from the bores without touching the glass. Although they seem to have been removed more than added of late...

This table was featured in a few magazines including Street Machine and Classic Car Weekly, and keeps popping up on various websites. It's the centre piece of my lounge and is a great talking point. Sorry, this first table is not for sale!
